About Me

Welcome to 8th State Hot Yoga
8th State Hot Yoga

I began practicing hot yoga in 2018 when a friend invited me to my first hot yoga class. I was extremely hesitant about going and thought that yoga just wasn’t for me and that it would be “too easy".

I ended up saying yes to see what this “hot yoga” was all about. What I got was so much more than I expected; for once, I was able to quiet the outside world, let go of distractions and focus on the 4 corners of my mat. What started as a fun way for me to de-stress after challenging workdays at my corporate job in Human Resources Management quickly grew into a passion for the practice which led me to take my first teacher training in Peru (and I've loved traveling ever since)! I earned my 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher Certification and shortly after attended my first yoga retreat in Bali with my mother. Upon our return, I began teaching online to friends and family in April of 2020 in the midst of the pandemic and on January 1, 2021 we opened 8th State Hot Yoga in Oconomowoc and I taught my first in person yoga class that day.Since then, I’ve earned my 300 hour Registered Yoga Teacher certificate and have completed 900 hours of yoga education through additional trainings in Yoga Sculpt, Children’s Yoga, Yin Yoga, Pranayama, Sound Healing and Bikram Yoga. I enjoy leading various class styles including beginner friendly, sculpt, restorative classes and sound experiences. It is truly an honor to share my passion for hot yoga and the positive mind, body and soul benefits of movement with others. This passion led me to open a second hot yoga studio in Mequon in October 2025 and to open an organic smoothie and juice bar right next to our Mequon studio a year later in October of 2024.Outside of hot yoga, I love traveling- I’ve lead retreats in Costa Rica, Bali and Tulum, Mexico and my husband and I have traveled to the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Vallarta, Egypt, Germany, Punta Cana, Jamaica and Italy.

We also enjoy going for Sunday morning breakfast and walks around Lake Fowler, biking outside, going for car rides in my dad's old car, visiting our local ice cream shops and hanging out with our outdoor cats, Peanut, Lilly and Beans! Who would’ve thought that one simple “yes” changed my life forever.I can’t wait to explore the world with you!
